Hello

Welcome to our first ever blog entry. I apologise if it is a bit strange as I am not sure yet what to write about. We will go with the flow and see what happens…..

We have just finalised our very exciting 2011 Sugarcraft class list. We have some amazing classes coming up that I want to attend myself but unfortunately I will be busy serving the teas and coffees instead. We have Frances McNaughton from Frankly Sweet, Geraldine Dahlke who is an amazing artist, Lisa Slatter, Erica Galvin, Cassie Brown from Passion4Cakes and more. These talented group of tutors will be teaching modelling skills, sugar flowers, royal icing skills and plenty of other sugarcraft tips to send you sugar making crazy. It is a privilege to have such well known and such busy tutors come to our little shop in Addlestone.

In between these classes if you have any cake making dilemmas you can always send us a message and we will reply as quickly as we can. It is always lovely to hear about other peoples cake ideas and chat about how things are made. After all there are always new techniques and tricks that we can all learn along the way. New sugarcraft products are brought out all the time and it’s nice to hear how they are used by different people in different ways.

Take the new printed sugar sheets made by Culpitt and sold at Sugar Sculpture. You can use any metal or plastic cutter with these to make amazing shapes for muffin’s or larger cakes. Try using the FMM letter tappits with these patterned sugar sheets. They are a little tricky but they make pretty letters for your cake top messages. I like using a teddy bear cutter with the gingham sheets and making wired sprays.

Anyway that’s it for now, I welcome any messages and queries or even tips about blog writing. Take care.
